The following are current and
past student photos, accomplishments, and testimonials:

Nongae
and Winnetou "Vinnie"
"Vinnie" is a 16h 2000 Hanoverian gelding owned by Nongae, who started working with Tracey
in May of 2011.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
We are happy to announce Nongae's purchase of "Donatalla" (2009 filly
by Donarweiss, out of Fatima, by Florestan I), the offspring of "Fatima" (shown
below), and we wish Nongae and Donatalla much happiness and success!
Lindsay
and "Nathalina"
Nathalina is a 1998 Holsteiner/Trakehner cross
mare owned by Lindsay, who started working with Tracey in May 2011.
Michelle
and Steel Magnolia "Stella"
"Stella" is a 17h 2006 Georgian Grande (Percheron/Saddlebred cross)
mare owned by
Michelle, who started working with Tracey in June of 2011. Stella and Michelle
are very successful in the jumper ring, but needed assistance with their flat
work and suppling. In a short time, they have made remarkable progress, as
Stella struggled with even coming on the bit and working through her back. As
you can see, three lessons later (when this photo was taken), they are getting
the hang of it!
Michelle says, "I have owned
Stella for three months and I bought her for jumping. I was having a lot of
trouble with my leg yielding and turning. I knew I needed a lot of flat work, so
I decided to work with Tracey and immediately started improving. After only
three lessons we have come so far, I feel like I am on a new horse. I'm even
considering a dressage show in our future!! We still have a far way to go, but I
know with Tracey’s help we will keep improving. Tracey is not only hardworking,
but also a lot fun!"
 Pam
and "Palini"
Palini is a 16.3 1993 Oldenberg/Thoroughbred
cross gelding owned by
Pam, who started working with Tracey in June of 2010. They have spent many years
honing their dressage skills, and came to Tracey to work on some basic issues
that would help them to get back on track with their dressage program.

Christie and
"Monti"
Christie and Monti, a 16.0h Thoroughbred
gelding, began working with Tranquillity Dressage in 2003, when Monti had numerous
basic issues, including only wanting to take one lead in the canter. They were
showing in Training Level at the time. After three years of hard work and
dedication, this pair has worked their way through Training, First, and Second
Levels, and have had numerous accomplishments including:

Vicki
and "Kelessar"
Vicki and Kellesar, began working with Tranquillity
Dressage in 2002, when she owned her horse Persuasive Prince ("BJ"), who was
retired in early 2006. With the help of Tracey, she has since purchased Kelessar, a
16.3 Trakehner cross gelding, who has been shown by Tracey since his purchase,
due to Vicki's extensive work-related travel. After many years away from the
show ring, Vicki was able to show him very successfully, winning virtually every
class entered.

Update:
We are terribly sad to report that our beloved Kelessar had to be
euthanized, due to an untreatable neurological disorder. He is very sadly
missed by everyone that knew him. He was an extremely special and kind soul that
will truly never be replaced. We are all heartbroken, and will forever hold his
memory in our hearts.
Eve and "Prince of Hearts” (Prince)
Eve writes,
“I am often asked 'What exactly is dressage?'. I can only describe
it as being one with your horse, striving for preciseness and
perfection in a quiet and gentle manner... you and your horse always
maintaining open communication by speaking the same language. This
is something that I find speaks to my soul.
As an amateur, I am continuously learning to
achieve, all the while 'having fun', under the tutelage of my trainer,
Tracey Winter. Tracey has an incredible way of teaching her methodology,
which is classical dressage. It is one of patience and kindness... knowing when
to ask more of a horse and student, and more importantly, when not to!
She always keeps the horse and rider's well-being first and foremost.
Again, as an amateur/novice, these are qualities
in a trainer that I have come to treasure. Whether on a Sunday hack or
in the show ring, Tracey's professionalism and know-how continue to help
my horse and me. Prince and I look forward to continuing all the
positive results!"

Elisabeth and "Olivvia” (Livvie)
Elisabeth writes,
“Being from Sweden, I am familiar with the term 'dressage'. For me,
it means how to train a horse to be strong, obedient, balanced and
soft through gymnastic movements. The main purpose is to make the
horse useable and pleasant to ride, and to promote the cooperation
between horse and rider. The benefit is a horse that will last you a
lifetime -- a horse that moves with ease, enhancing the natural
beauty of the animal.
The dressage rider's goal is to be in perfect
balance and harmony with the horse. To obtain all that, you need a good
trainer, and in Tracey Winter I have found the best. Dressage is not
only a sport, it is an art, and Tracey Winter is the Michelangelo of
dressage!
Tracey has helped me and my mare, Olivvia,
tremendously. When I first met Tracey, my horse could not canter. She
was unhappy and difficult. After three months with Tracey, she could do
a half pass in canter, with her ears pricked forward. Everybody that
knew Olivvia and I before I met Tracey cannot believe we are the same
horse and rider. Watch out show season 2011! Thank you, Tracey, for all
your patience, kindness and inspiration!"
Amy and "Maine Lee Washte Kola" (Pookie)
"Pookie" is a 15.1h Morgan gelding owned by Amy.
Amy writes, "I will never forget the first time
I saw Tracey ride Pookie. All I could think was, "Wow! Is that
my horse?". He had been transformed. It was a long road
for him and I from there, but Tracey's training style was easy to
understand and she never made me feel second best because we were
starting out at the bottom. What I never thought was possible,
Tracey has helped us accomplish in five short months. I never
thought Pookie and I could overcome our racetrack past: his dream of
being a racehorse, and mine of being a jockey. Five months later, we
were in the ring at our first dressage show, and came home not only
with a second place, but also a first place ribbon! We now have a
new dream in dressage thanks to Tracey's talent, dedication, and
patience."

Michelle
and "Let It Rain" (Raymond)
Michelle and Raymond, a 16.2h Oldenburg
gelding,
came to Tranquillity Dressage in late 2005. Raymond had not been under saddle
very long, but their work had been grooming them for the hunter ring. Knowing
that dressage could be of benefit to their program, they began learning the
basics of dressage, and did very well, until it was time for them to return to
their home in New Jersey for the 2006 summer season,
where he returned to his hunter work.
They returned in the winter of the 2006/2007 season and continued their training
and showing, again returning to New Jersey to pursue their hunter work. They
returned for the 2007/2008 season, and Tracey showed Raymond at the
prestigious Wellington Classic Spring Challenge, where they did extraordinarily
well. It was Raymond's first show at Training Level, and he earned a 72.174%,
with excellent comments from the judge!!!

competing at First Level. Since working with Tracey, they pair has gone from
First Level to Third Level. Macho has since been sold to Ann Hayes of Las
Cruces, New Mexico where they are very successfully competing at the FEI levels,

Alicia and
"Donovan"
"Donovan" is a 16h Quarter
Horse gelding owned by Alicia.
Alicia writes, "Back in the early
days of Tracey's professional dressage career, there was a lazy quarter horse
and a lovable baby palomino. Tracey, somehow, managed to make that quarter horse
(Donny) look like a million bucks, and his owner was even able to do a freestyle
with him - her life's ambition. The palomino (Johnny) got an excellent start
with Tracey, and never felt a heavy hand in his mouth.
Unfortunately, the boys had to relocate with me to California. There was no
trainer to be found here like Tracey and for various reasons, both horses were
granted an early retirement. The successes Donny, Johnny and I have experienced
go well beyond the dressage ring. We all worked hard when it was required of us,
and now enjoy the gift of an easy life in the hills of California. Who could ask
for anything more?
Thank you, Tracey, for giving us the best training experience a person (or
horse) could ask for."
Lana Kay and
"Forbidden" (Trix)
Lana Kay started with Tracey back in 2003
with her previous horse, Fiddlestyx ("Styx"). He was retired in 2005 and Lana
Kay, with the help of Tracey, purchased Forbidden, a promising young 16.0h
Trakehner mare who was only 30 days under saddle.
Lana Kay
writes
"Our goal for the 2005-2006 show season was
to get this young mare to a few GCDA shows, let Tracey ride her a
couple times, and get me on her at a show....or two.....maybe....
Well, we far surpassed that goal! Tracey rode her the first show of
the season, and after that we both were able to ride the mare in the
rest of the shows of the season. Tracey's Introductory Level average
on Trix for the season was 73.240%, and mine was 64.940%. The most
important accomplishment of this past season has been the bond that
has developed between this young mare and myself. With Tracey's
training, guidance, and patience, we have a young horse that I am
able to ride with confidence and trust, that as a relatively
inexperienced adult amateur I am able to continue to learn basic
riding skills, I have a horse that can be competitive with "the
best", and I have a horse that is affectionate, loving, has
personality plus, and gives me her best when we work. Our goal for
the 2006-2007 season will be to show in Training Level at Gold Coast
Dressage competitions, and we're off to a great start!"

Susan and "Tonus"
Susan McCoy
worked with Tracey several years ago with her Arabian, Rocco. She
has since moved to beautiful Ocala, retired her beloved Rocco, and
purchased her new love, Tonus, a 1999 16.2h Lusitano stallion (later
to be gelded). Susan and Tracey
still stay in touch, and in a recent email, Susan had these kind
words to say:
"Those of us that have been touched
by you and those who share your views, philosophies and love of the
sport are truly lucky. You have taught us that there are no
shortcuts, and the only way to a harmonious relationship with our
horses is through kind, non-forceful and clear training. Not to
mention lots of time and dedication! You have had a huge influence
over my riding and relationship with my horse!"
ANNOUNCEMENT: We are terribly sad
to announce the passing of Tonus. He will be sorely missed.
Annette and
"Mädchen"
Annette started her training
with Tranquillity Dressage with her leased horse, Dreamer, in 2006. With the help
of Tracey, she has since purchased her new horse, Mädchen, an
American Warmblood (Trakehner/Thoroughbred cross) mare to continue
her dressage career with. Annette says, "I have been training
with Tracey Winter since June 2005, and have enjoyed every
minute. The greatest compliment I’ve had came from a friend who said
that my riding has advanced “light years” from when we first began
together. Tracey is always professional in her approach to student
and horse, and has an ability to bring out our best efforts even
when we are having an “off” day. She couples her commitment to
classical dressage training with a great sense of humor and infinite
patience, making for a fantastic training experience."
Sue and “Tikka’s Brigadoon” (Briggs)
Sue writes,
“People often say to me, “What is Dressage”? I try to explain that
it’s like dancing on horseback, when the horse and rider appear as
one. Although I’ve been riding for many years, the art of dressage
has to be the hardest thing I have ever tried to accomplish on
horseback! It takes considerable time, patience and talent. When
you get even the slightest movement correct, it is also very
rewarding!
I started
training with Tracey in April of 2009 and immediately “clicked” with
her style of coaching and training. She uses her many years of
experience and accomplishments to maximize the talent of her
students and the horses they ride. I’m very excited to be working
with her and look forward to our journey to see just how far “What
is Dressage” will take us”
